What is Family Law?
Family law, in the broadest sense, covers any litigation or transaction which brings the family together or severs ties between family members. The definition might seem basic, but because family law issues can cross over into other areas of the law, it is important to use an experienced family lawyer.
What Does a Family Lawyer Do?

A family lawyer oversees the well-being, obligations, and rights of certain family members including children, spouses, and others who might be considered family. Drew Clements is devoted to the practice of family law and domestic litigation and can guide you through the process from start to finish.
You have rights pertaining to your children, your property, and your dignity. You also may have responsibilities related to your spouse or children. Many spouses come to terms amicably and swiftly, making the process easier and substantially less stressful. Other couples cannot agree to terms and require someone who will fight for their interests.
Our team understands the complexity in the legal issues impacting Tennessee families. We are ready to stand with you and your family through the process. Contact us today to set up your consultation. Don’t delay in handling the legal needs of your family. (link to contact page)
Chattanooga Family Law Attorney Drew Clements
A native of Chattanooga, Drew graduated from Lee University with honors in political science. Then, graduating fourth in his class from the Nashville School of Law, he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence, with high honors and was admitted into the school’s honor society, Cooper’s Inn, for finishing in the top ten percent of his class. After working briefly for a medical malpractice defense firm in Nashville while in school, Drew returned home to Chattanooga to focus on an elder law and family law practice.
Drew mainly helps clients in probate and estate planning as well as divorce/custody matters. However, Drew also aids clients in business planning, landlord/tenant issues (both commercial and residential) and personal injury. His personal commitment as your legal representation is to work diligently, timely and cost-efficiently, knowing that no matter the situation, you are facing a period of overwhelming change.
Drew is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Elder Law Executive Council, serving as the Vice Chair for 2023-2024 and as the Section Chair for 2024-2025.
